Americas Covid-19 Memorial
Biennial of the Americas

“Tears are the words the heart can not express.” as spoken by Gerard Wry, is at the foundation of this concept. The Covid-19 crisis came without warning. It cauterized the Americas, as well as the world. This concept is to take that pain and create a memorial that recognizes and helps to release that anguish through symbolic tears, hourly and daily, and over time.

Water is a healer. It is a cleanser. It can be touched and it can be heard.  As the teardrops fall timed like the chimes of a clock, we are reminded everything moves forward. But there is a time when sharing tears and providing comfort is basic human nature because; We All Cry. Tears for the past, tears for the moment, and tears for a brighter future.
